Pimento or Allspice thrives in the limestone-derived soil of the central parishes of the island. Pimento was introduced to Jamaica by the Tainos. St. Ann is one of the major pimento producing parishes in Jamaica. As a large employer, the industry would probably have use seasonal workers as seen in this image.
